These Trade-In Terms and Conditions apply to customers using the Laptop Giant Trade In service within the United Kingdom. By submitting a trade-in request through our website, you agree to the terms outlined below. Laptop Giant reserves the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice.
2. Eligibility
The service is available to UK residents only.
A valid UK address is required.
You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be the legal owner of the device.
The device must not be stolen, blacklisted, finance-locked, or subject to any third party claim.
We reserve the right to request proof of identity and ownership.
3. Provisional Valuation
Any quote provided after online submission is a provisional valuation based on the information and images supplied.
Final valuation is subject to:
Physical inspection at our UK facility
Verification of hardware specifications
Confirmation of device condition
Successful power-on and diagnostic testing
IMEI/serial number verification
If the actual condition differs from the submitted details, the valuation may be revised.
4. Condition Requirements
The device must:
Power on (unless declared faulty)
Match the specifications declared in the form
Not have undisclosed liquid damage
Not have major structural damage unless clearly disclosed
Not be activation locked (e.g. iCloud, BIOS lock, MDM lock)
Devices found to be locked or blacklisted may be returned without payment.
5. Data Responsibility
Customers are fully responsible for:
Backing up all data before sending the device
Removing personal accounts (Apple ID, Microsoft, Google, etc.)
Performing a factory reset where possible
Laptop Giant will perform secure data wiping in accordance with UK GDPR standards; however, we are not responsible for data loss.
6. Shipping and Risk
After accepting a provisional offer:
We may provide a prepaid shipping label.
Devices must be securely packaged.
Risk remains with the customer until the device is received at our facility.
Laptop Giant is not liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging.
7. Revised Offers
If inspection results in a revised offer:
The customer will be contacted.
The customer may accept or decline the revised offer.
If declined, the device can be returned (return shipping fees may apply).
If no response is received within 7 days, we reserve the right to return the device.
8. Completion of Trade-In
Upon acceptance of final valuation:
The trade-in value will be deducted from the new device purchase.
Any remaining balance must be paid before dispatch.
The upgraded device will be shipped after full payment clearance.
9. Fraud Prevention
Laptop Giant reserves the right to:
Report suspected stolen devices to relevant UK authorities.
Retain devices suspected of fraud pending investigation.
Cancel transactions where fraud is suspected.
10. Limitation of Liability
Laptop Giant shall not be liable for:
Data loss
Indirect or consequential damages
Delays caused by courier services
Undisclosed faults discovered during inspection
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
